Come Worship With Us!Sunday Worship 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Summer Worship 9:30 a.m. (May 20 - Sep 2) For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him, should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Our Worship continues to provide new and innovative ways to enhance our experiences of the people of God here at First Presbyterian Church of Freehold. We currently hold two Sunday morning worship services in our sanctuary. The 8:30 a.m. service features our childrens choirs, contemporary musical instruments and praise songs, and a shortened format in an informal atmosphere. Our 11:00 a.m. worship tends to be more traditional, with the Chancel and adult handbell choirs, music from our beautiful organ, and participatory prayers, creeds and hymns. A feature of both services, the Time With Children, offers an opportunity for our pastors to share the message with our young worshipers. Also, during the services, children are welcome to help themselves to a table full of books, puzzles, and activities that can occupy them in a meaningful way. For those who prefer, Childcare is available during both services for children through kindergarten. Childcare services are provided in Room 5 of the Christian Education Building. Our co-pastors, Cindy and David Bowman, deliver challenging and thoughtful sermons on alternate Sundays. Hopefully, our services touch everyone in some way. Special ServicesThroughout the year, special services will be held to celebrate Gods Love during these special events:
For changes to the above, please refer to the Church bulletins and/or Newsletters. CommunionCommunion is served on the first Sunday of each month. Elders and deacons bring the bread and juice to the congregation, sitting in the pews. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ, including baptized children, may partake of communion when it is served in our church. WeddingsIn order to be married at First Presbyterian Church, you must fill out a wedding application, which is available in the church office. Once the application is approved by the Worship Commission, the couple will meet with a Pastor at least 3 times. Weddings are not limited to church members. One of our Pastors must participate in the wedding service. Music is arranged through our Director of Music. BaptismsBaptism is available for children and adults, and is held during Sunday morning worship. Children may be baptized at any age. However, at least one parent must be an active member of First Presbyterian Church for at least 3 months prior to the baptism. Call the church office for a baptism application in order to begin the process for baptism. |
