Finance Commission: oversees the church funds, including memorial funds, benevolent giving, and the regular weekly offerings.
Weekly giving to the Church: Tithing in the Bible states that 10% of what we make should be “given back” to the church. We understand that everyone has different financial situations, however, at First Presbyterian Church, we believe, it is in giving that we receive. Offering envelopes are provided by our Financial Secretary to facilitate your giving. In the fall of each year, a Stewardship Campaign is held to encourage members to make a pledge for the coming year. These pledges assist the Session in establishing the annual church budget.
Charitable Gifts Annuities, Memorial gifts : Making a difference gives purpose; what a joy to give for generations to come. Members and friends are encouraged to remember First Presbyterian Church of Freehold in their wills, leaving a legacy. Donations of stocks, and other assets is welcome and can be arranged for through the Finance Commission.

Our surround communities are filled with persons who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives. Recognizing this need, the Outreach Commission is charged with making our church visible in the community, while also offering opportunities for others to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. A variety of ways are employed in this effort, such as: greeters and a welcome station for worship services, participation in the Freehold Memorial Day Parade, follow up with church visitors, postcard invitations for special worship services, special invite-a-friend Sundays, and banners in the front of the church.

One of the ways we seek to grow in Christ’s love is through our mission work. Some of the opportunities offered are through hands-on participation in the Sanctuary/Day Laborer feeding program each winter, hosting the guests of Family Promise of Monmouth County every 11 weeks, tutoring persons in English, and visiting area nursing homes each month. IN addition: we actively support the Open Door, the local food pantry and provide support for a Young Adult In Mission, Henry Coates.
