Presbyterian Women - PW

As Presbyterian Women we describe ourselves in the following way: "We are a diverse and caring group of women who meet monthly in Circles and semi-annually for Gatherings. Our women nurture their faith through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and mission. We share joys and concerns and pray together, learn about mission opportunities, and contribute to local and churchwide causes. We have a good time as we grow spiritually. We are enriched in our relationships with one another and with God. Occasionally, we have special dinners, luncheons, picnics, etc., which offer great opportunities for fellowship and fun.

Join a Circle! Attend a Gathering! There's a place for everyone!"

We are currently divided into 3 circles which meet the Second week of each month.

Diverse

Women of all ages and from all stages of life combine to form our PW group. We have working moms, stay-at-home moms, single moms, new mothers, great-grandmothers, widows, single women, newlyweds, and 50-year anniversary celebrants. We bring our wealth of knowledge and experience and combine our new ideas and enthusiasm together in order to reach all women.

Caring

We reach out in many ways; delivering flowers to shut-in or hospitalized members of the congregation; support those in nursing homes; collect offerings for The Crossroads at Howell, a Presbyterian Homes facility, for Open Door, for Madonna House, and for many other charities. Through our Secret Sister program, we are enabled  to uplift one another on an anonymous, one-on-one basis.

Group

Approximately 70 women from our congregation are members of Presbyterian Women. We serve in many other capacities and provide strong leadership throughout the church's programs. We plan and lead the congregation in some Sunday services and help to maintain the beauty and sanctity of our church! We are constantly striving to reach out to other women by meeting with new church members and contacting women who aren't currently active.

Church World Services-CWS

Women meet once a month to sort through the stacks of donated clothing, linens, etc. We clean, mend then ship these items to various mission projects. We also assemble health kits and school kits. We do wonderful, fulfilling, hands-on mission work. Please come out and join us on the   fourth Tuesdays of the month from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Lounge behind the Sanctuary.

Unity Club

Unity Club, a social gathering of older adults in our church who meet monthly on Thursday evenings @ 7:00 p.m. for dinner and fellowship. Contact Dorothy Burdge at 732-446-7994 if you are interested in finding out more about this wonderful group!
